Incline Village, NV;
Celebrating homecoming 2017, the Incline High School varsity volleyball team quickly dispatched of the Silver Stage Nighthawks on Friday night 25-9, 25-18 and 25-13.
The home AA Northern NV league game was never in doubt as the Highlanders came out fast with precise passing and phenomenal team play.
“It’s all about how we pass,” Incline coach Tim Kelly said. “When we pass the ball like tonight and make Madeleine’s life easy, then we are the best team in the state.”
Madeleine Saxe, the Senior setter for Incline, took advantage of the great passes from her teammates as she ran the Highlanders offense beautifully. It seemed as though every Incline player had a great kill on the night.
Leading the charge again were Seniors; Ellyse Kirkland, Madison Cronk and Alexis Krolick. Celebrating Senior night, those four, along with Libero, Leslie Medina, swung at will against the defenseless Nighthawks.
“I’m really happy for those 5 young ladies,” Kelly said. “They have worked hard and they deserved to celebrate like this tonight. It was nice to see them play this well and have a great time together.”
The win puts the Highlanders at 9-2 in conference play with a showdown at #1 Yerington on Saturday afternoon in Lyon County. With a win tomorrow the Highlanders will pretty much lock up the #2 seed and a bye into the regional semi finals on Nov. 4.
